Moving Mcallister review

A  romantic comedy with familiar formula. Rick Robinson tries to score points with his boss and agrees to a favor he can’t afford. He ends up in a cross country road trip with his boss’s niece.

Good story

While the story won’t impress most critics because it has been done before and at times feels unrealistic. I actually liked it a lot. It has a nice feeling to it and really nicely mixes comedy with drama. And the acting performances where top notch so overall the story feels really complete and satisfying.

Nice experience

The story is backed up nicely with great camera work and some great dialogues. The soundtrack is also amazing, using music not found in the charts. Including Dwainwright and the format.  Just as unique are the characters. Orlie is a nice character that adds some comedy dept to the story and the Lady is an extremely mysterious character you won’t fast forget. While the jokes won’t necessairily blow you away all the time, it does include a few funny one liners and the typical funny scenarios. So comedy wise it might not be the best but overall the movie leaves a nice experience. With Rick finding a lot including himself in a road trip from hell.

Conclusion

A great movie with nice story, unique characters and nice music. Unfortunately it isn’t the funniest movie and a lot of jokes will seem familiar. Ever seen a character chase a truck downhill before?
